As we’re coming to the end of the 2017 exam season, I thought I would write about something that can happen to many of us.
You wait, counting down the days until your last exam. Then, the day finally comes! You picture in your mind the celebrations that will happen, tearing up revision, throwing it out of your window and letting it float in the breeze.
But, it doesn’t quite happen like that. You can get a weird sort of emptiness (sounds strange, I know.) For months you have had a real focus and end goal, yet then you leave your last exam and, what next?
The next date written on your calendar is results day, probably in August – eight whole weeks away. Then, it gets you thinking…
What if I haven’t passed? Could I have revised more? Will I ever get a job?
I’m writing this to try and tell you that it is completely normal. It’s definitely happened to me – in fact, right this minute I have a voice in my head telling me that I failed the exam that I took last week. I’m just saying that once an exam is over – breathe. There is nothing you can change.
You’re not the only one that this happens to, I promise.
